We have all watched the horrific scenes in Ukraine over the past 3 weeks. A totally unjustifed war that is being waged on an independant soverign nation here in Europe. 

We all take our freedoms for granted and i am sure we are not alone in being thankful for peace here in the UK. It is sometimes the things we dont even think about that can have the most impact. 

The Floodgate stands in solidarity with Ukraine and our thoughts are with all those effected. The Directors have been involed in various donation projects and are currently looking into other activites to help as much as we can.

We have barely had time to relax since the amazing drama at the Winter Olympics only a few weeks ago!

Now it is full steam ahead with the Paralympic Winter Games Beijing 2022. Team GB are of to an amazing start registering 5 medals on the board; 1 Gold, 1 Silver & 3 Bronze (at time of writing).

We are wishing our team GB curlers the best of luck, Gregor Ewan, Hugh Nibloe, David Melrose, Meggan Dawson-Farrell & Gary Smith.

Our favorite winter sport is back, no prizes to guess what it is.... Curling, of course. The round robin session have been full of exciting action with Team GB just loosing 4...

Congratulations to our amazing womens curling team who went to Beijing to win the biggest title of them all, Olympic Gold.

It was estimated that over 700k people tuned in from the UK to watch the match that started around 1am (GMT). Eve Muirhead, Vicky Wright, Jen Dodds, and Hailey Duff took to the ice to face their formidable oponent Japan in the final.

After the huge success of our very own Bleachers Beer that we launched back in 2019 Team Floodgate have been working away in the background on a new draught offering for 2022. You could even say we have been comparing apples with apples (drum roll please). 

With that in mind and as spring and summer is just around the corner (aka cider season) we are very pleased to annouce PitPat Press Cider which is now flowing freely at The Floodgate. Coming in at a refeshing 4.5% abv it is a medium dry cider with no artificial flavours or sweeteners.
