We at The Floodgate love autumn as it is action-packed and full of events to celebrate.

September is always full of anticipation as students return to a buzzing town packed with exciting nightlife. New students will set their foot in Birmingham for the first time and no doubt they will have the newcomer jitters and be excited for fresher’s week.

Freshers’ week is a great way to get to know your new friends. Come on down to Digbeth into The Floodgate for one of the most exciting nightlife spots.  At the Floodgate you will experience the perfect student nightlife and can bond with new or old student friends over a cocktail or a game to an Instagram-ready backdrop. However, there are loads to celebrate in autumn. Beer lovers have waited the whole year for Oktoberfest that is celebrated from the 17th of September to the 3rd of October. You don’t have to go all the way to Bavaria to drink good beer. The Floodgate offers a range of beers such as Brooklyn Lager to our very own Bleachers Beer.

October is our favourite time of the year. The Floodgate is haunted as you may know and if you come down at Halloween you might catch a glimpse of the ghost. In October, British summertime also ends. However, you get one extra hour of partying as this year it will land on a Saturday so make sure you don’t waste it.

In November, The Floodgate celebrates the second anniversary of its opening. Watch this space as there will be great celebrations and fun for this event.

No matter how you spend your autumn, we can all agree that there is something special in the air this time of year and we hope you enjoy it to the fullest.
