After 15 months of being closed and the uncertainty that the pandemic has caused independent businesses such as us. It is amazing to see society (& hospitality) opening up safely and allowing us to do what we do best and deliver joy (and beer) to our customers.

At The Floodgate we are lucky to have space for 6 Curling lanes, 3 Indoors & 3 Outdoors. These have been specially constructed from a special plastic which allows our bespoke curling stones to slide on the surface with adapted ball bearings. This means you get all the fun without being ice cold or having to do any sweeping, it really is a win-win. Now for a little bit about Curling;

Brain Training: Making split-second decisions on the pitch of a baseball to hitting that home run through to the correct strategy to implement on a certain play can help keep the mind sharp and alert. 2. Cardiovascular Fitness: Although The Floodgate offers baseball on a smaller scale (in a cage) it can still provide a good cardiovascular workout. From running around the cage to collect your balls, you will exercise Cardio, which strengthens your heart muscle and improves lung capacity. Being a batter, you will get short bursts of cardiovascular exercise hitting those home runs.

Birmingham's Coolest Beer Garden. We have had a fantastic month welcoming all you wonderful Brummies back to The Floodgate to enjoy our new outside space The Yard. It has been wonderful to see you all coming out to meet your old friends and family, play some games, eat some street food and sink our insane cocktails and craft beers under the fresh spring sunshine.
