The Brooklyn Brewery started with a dream to return brewing to Brooklyn, once a powerhouse of American beer production. Today their beers travel to more than half the United States and over thirty countries, including The Floodgate in Birmingham. the Brooklyn Beer James Beard Award-winning Brewmaster Garrett Oliver and his team brew everything from classic styles to bold experiments and collaborate with brewers, innovators, and artists from around the globe. Brooklyn Lager

Brooklyn Lager is amber-gold in colour and displays a firm malt centre supported by a refreshing bitterness and floral hop aroma. Caramel malts show in the finish. The aromatic qualities of the beer are enhanced by “dry-hopping”, the centuries-old practice of steeping the beer with fresh hops as it undergoes a long, cold maturation.

The result is a wonderfully flavourful beer, smooth, refreshing, and very versatile with food. Dry hopping is largely a British technique, which we’ve used in a Viennese-style beer to create an American original.

Brooklyn Defender

Defend Beer with Brooklyn Defender IPA, our heroically hopped golden IPA featuring strong notes of tropical fruit, well-muscled hop bitterness, and an incredibly dry finish. Cape not required. #DefendBeer.

The Brooklyn Brewery is made up of a rich collection of characters from all over the world, dedicated to brewing and selling great beer and enriching the communities we serve. Brooklyn Defender IPA beer is best served with grilled vegetables, barbecue, spicy dishes which of course can be found at our wonderful Ellie Mays in The Yard.

The Floodgate & The Yard

Our fantastic venue and playing arena is set over 10,000 sqft indoors, featuring 4 Baseball Cages, 3 Curling Lanes & an 18 hole PitPat course. The Yard (our wonderful beer garden in the heart of Birmingham) is set over 5,000 sq ft and boasts 3 Curling Lanes, 2 Baseball Cages, amazing Street Food & quirky seating throughout.
