A Guide To A Staycation In Birmingham

Birmingham is a great city for a staycation, with plenty of things to see and do. Here is a guide to a perfect 3-day trip:

Day 1:

  • Start your day with a visit to the Bullring, Birmingham's iconic shopping centre.

  • After that, take a walk through the city centre and admire the architecture. Some of the most notable buildings include the Town Hall, the Library of Birmingham, and the Selfridges building.

  • In the afternoon, head to the Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery. The museum has a wide range of exhibits, from ancient Egyptian artifacts to modern art.

  • In the evening, enjoy a meal at one of Birmingham's many restaurants. Some of the city's most popular eateries include The Alchemist, Purnell's Restaurant, and Dishoom.

Day 2:

  • On your second day, you can explore some of Birmingham's other neighborhoods. Moseley is a great place to go for independent shops and cafes.

  • If you're interested in history, you could visit the Black Country Living Museum, which is a recreated Victorian industrial town.

  • In the afternoon, take a walk along the canals. Birmingham has a network of canals that are perfect for a leisurely stroll.

  • In the evening, Explore Digbeth and top up your art & culture reserves. Check out all the amazing Graffiti art on every street corner by some of the UK's leading artists. Soak up the cool vibes and look out for a Peaky Blinder. Then stop that hunger & quench your thirst and rest those legs in The Floodgate Beer Garden (one of the best beer gardens in Birmingham). Grab your self a cold craft beer (or cocktail) and much down on some awesome sliders & tacos to get you evening off to the right start.

Day 3:

  • On your last day, you could visit some of Birmingham's other attractions, such as the Sea Life Centre, the National Indoor Arena, or the Thinktank science museum.

  • If you have time, you could also take a day trip to one of Birmingham's nearby towns or cities, such as Stratford-upon-Avon, Coventry, or Wolverhampton.

This is just a suggested itinerary, of course, and you can tailor it to your own interests and preferences. Birmingham is a vibrant and exciting city with something for everyone, so you're sure to have a great time no matter what you choose to do.
